Last updated: 11 October 2026

This website, janejamieson.com.au (the "Website"), is operated by Jane Jamieson, trading as Bounce Psychology (ABN 40 828 105 767) ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information when you visit the Website, buy from us, join our mailing list or contact us.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What personal information we collect

Depending on how you use the Website, we may collect:

  • Contact details: your name, email address, and billing and shipping addresses.
  • Order details: the products you buy, order history, and any returns or refunds.
  • Payment details: payments are processed securely by Shopify and its payment partners. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • Mailing list details: your name and email address if you sign up for updates, a free resource or an expression of interest.
  • Messages: anything you include when you email us or use a contact form.
  • Technical information: such as your IP address, browser and device type, and how you use the Website. This is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

Please do not send us health or other sensitive information about yourself or your child through the Website or by email. This Website is for books, resources and updates. It is not a clinical or therapy service, and we cannot provide individual advice through it.

How we collect it

  • Directly from you, when you place an order, sign up to our mailing list, or contact us.
  • Automatically, through cookies and similar technologies when you browse the Website.
  • From our service providers, such as Shopify (orders and payments) and MailerLite (email).

How we use it

We use your personal information to:

  • process and deliver your orders, including pre-orders and digital products
  • send order confirmations, delivery updates and other messages about your purchase
  • send newsletters and marketing emails, where you have agreed to receive them
  • respond to your questions and requests
  • understand how the Website is used so we can improve it
  • protect against fraud and keep the Website secure
  • meet our legal obligations, such as tax and record-keeping requirements

Email marketing

We only add you to our mailing list if you choose to join, for example by signing up on the Website, requesting a free resource, or ticking the marketing box at checkout. When you sign up, we will tell you what you are signing up for.

Our emails may include information about books, resources, events and related news. Every marketing email identifies us as the sender and includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We will act on your request promptly. We may still send you non-marketing emails about an order you have placed.

We keep a record of when and how you joined our list.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information with people and organisations that help us run the Website and business, and only as needed for that purpose. These include:

  • Shopify, which runs our online store, checkout and payment processing
  • MailerLite, which manages our mailing list and emails
  • Lovable and its hosting providers, which host the Website
  • postal and courier services, to deliver physical orders
  • professional advisers, such as our accountant, where needed
  • government or law enforcement bodies, where required or authorised by law

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and is responsible for how it handles information under its own terms.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada and the European Union. By using the Website, you understand that your information may be handled overseas. We choose established providers that have their own privacy and security protections in place.

Cookies and analytics

The Website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the store and cart work, remember your preferences and understand how visitors use the site.

We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or Shopify analytics) to understand which pages are visited and how people find the Website. We may also use advertising tools (such as the Meta Pixel) to measure the results of our advertising and show relevant ads to people who have visited the Website. These tools collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you view. They do not give us your name or contact details.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use your browser's privacy or "do not track" settings, or adjust your ad preferences on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Some parts of the Website, such as the cart and checkout, may not work properly without them.

Children

Our books and resources are written for children, but the Website and our mailing list are intended for parents, caregivers and professionals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Our providers use industry-standard security, including encrypted checkout. No online system is completely secure, though, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy or as required by law (for example, financial records are generally kept for five years for tax purposes). After that, we delete or de-identify it.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
